Join James Beard Recognized Chef Chris Maher of Taos, New Mexico to learn about a Mediterranean inspired meal at this hands-on cooking class. Chef’s roots from growing up in Alexandria, Egypt will be on full display as he pulls inspirations from Greece, Turkey, Lebanon and Egypt. Mediterranean cuisine is known for its fresh ingredients and flavors combined to create delicious and healthy variations on things you will enjoy recreating on your own, again and again. Travel with Chris to one of our favorite areas of the world during this upcoming class to learn what makes this cuisine one of the most popular across the globe.

Sibby Travis Barrett of “Onion Creek Kitchens” will assist Chef. Classes are 100% hands on participation. All levels of cooks welcome! After class, the group will sit down and enjoy foods you have prepared together. Students have fun and walk away having learned recipes, technique and theory.

  • Lasagna Pasticcio (Greek white lasagna)

  • Chris’s Hoummos
  • Lebanese Fish Kebabs
  • Arab Salad

Learn to make the Egyptian version of the most delectable, stuffed grape leaves (with rice and beef and can easily be made vegetarian). Greek style white lasagna is a crowd pleaser! Smoky eggplant dip is one you will love so much you’ll never eat baba ganoush again! Once you learn to create Chris’s hummus recipe, buying it from the market won’t be an option. Mouthwatering Fish Kebabs are great as an appetizer or with a meal. Chef promises to tantalize your taste buds. Bon Appetit!

Chris operates “Cooking Studio Taos” with his wife Valerie. They specialize in high-end events, culinary travel to destinations across the globe, private chef services as well as their full-time culinary school in Taos, New Mexico.
