Mystic Sky Ranch is perfectly named. After two days I felt like I’d been unplugged for weeks. Magical! This is Texas Hill Country at it’s finest. All that Austin has to offer is a short drive away or you can explore the quaint, charming towns of Blanco and Dripping Springs. The property, with all it’s amenities and the impeccably decorated spa-like Casitas, make for the perfect romantic getaway. You can immerse yourself in solitude or enjoy the company of it’s incredibly gracious hosts, Sandie and Joe Ward.

Putting our welcome candle-lit dinner into words is challenging. Envision a night in Tuscany at a rustic chic Italian Villa with your own personal chef creating one culinary masterpiece after another. Starters included mini peppers stuffed with herbed goat cheese and selection of local salumi from “Salumeria”. Manja!

I had the best spaghetti carbonara with pancetta many years ago in Capri and Sandie’s version took me back in time. She sticks to basic ingredients; Guanciale (you can use pancetta or bacon) imported Parmigiano reggiano (Loucalti), peas and poached egg on top, allowing simple flavors to shine. Damn delicious and devoured! Luscious lavender lemon creme brûlée’ with a layer of perfectly brittle topped sugar and raspberries for desert was light and delicious. Brava!

Food breaks all language barriers. It doesn’t matter where you are. If there’s food or music, there’s a kind of connection and understanding. True hospitality is subltle. It’s clear to our hosts that the kitchen is hailed as one of the most important spaces. Lucky us!

With glasses of wine in hand after dinner we strolled through the cedar tree lined path star gazing at the moon. Mystic Sky Ranch deserves all the stars the Texas night sky has to offer.

Upon entering Mystic Sky Ranch, we knew this was the getaway we were looking for. Nestled between Dripping Springs and Blanco, the winding drive to this Hill Country experience helped us leave all stress and worries behind. We absolutely loved the design of the casitas and the curated cool aesthetic. With so many things to explore on property we found ourselves enjoying a full day of much-needed downtime and peaceful birdwatching. Owners Sandie & Joe Ward welcomed us with a delicious dinner of homemade corn chowder soup, decadent lobster ravioli with sage and lemon creme brulee. This meal transported us to the shores of the Amalfi Coast! Next visit we look forward to time around the fire ring gazing at the stars. Sandie and Joe were stellar hosts! The accommodations were stylish, comfortable, clean, and located on a beautiful 54 acre ranch. While the property is secluded, you may have interaction with other guests in common spaces. Would definitely recommend to friends!! Be sure to see the 600 plus year old tree where original settlers set up homestead. Magnificent!

Mystic Ranch Sky is a little piece of country heaven. Sandie goes above and beyond to make sure you have the most comfortable, fabulous stay. I was impressed by the resort feel of each casita from the luxury Stearns and Foster bedding to the beautiful decor. We also enjoyed fun amenities like the bocce ball court, but the gorgeous infinity pool was definitely my favorite place to escape and relax. Sandie is also a great chef that treated my family and friends to a delicious birthday dinner at the spacious on-site commercial kitchen and barn. Thank you to Sandie and Joe for making our stay memorable. Mystic Sky Ranch is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature on 54 magical acres. Each casita has a special touch, and the owners have thought of every detail, from original art work and photography by Sandie Ward, to the towels, luxury sheets, pillows, snacks and fresh fruit.

We recently celebrated our daughter’s 30th birthday friends. Sandie created the menu for the entire weekend , starting with a delicious Mongolian bbq and Asian Salad by the pool. Sit down dinner celebration was scrumptious including puff pastry salmon tarts, roasted pear and gorgonzola salad and black ink squid pasta with shrimp, beurre blanc sauce and Pernod. The salmon pesto tart was to die for! I wanted to take home more of the peach and fig semi-fredo for breakfast! All the food was lovingly prepared with high quality fresh ingredients. Owners Joe and Sandie treat every guest like family. They are the consummate hosts. Create your next memories at Mystic Sky Ranch; the perfect get away in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas.

Magical place!

I had a wonderful time at Mystic Sky Ranch. Breathtaking scenery and guest Casitas are inviting and have everything you could possibly need for a weekend getaway or more. Rainfall showerheads, coffee nook w/mini fridge, cozy monogramed Italian Frette robes, living area with magazines, books and TV, infinity pool and serene surroundings with the feel of an Italian Mediterranean getaway. The ranch is secluded, spacious and has lush greenery with the commercial kitchen just a short walk away from the casitas and the swimming pool/outdoor grill and fireplace. Also, can we just take a moment of silence for the excellent food…yum! It can hold small to large gatherings and I can imagine wonderful life celebratons occurring on this unique property. Highly recommend this special place for overnight or extended stay and I would happily stay again!

Sandie’s casita “Sol Naciente” was gorgeous getaway in the hill country with sweeping views from every angle of the property. The pool and the outdoor kitchen were a perfect place to end the day. Sandie and her husband were wonderful hosts that made us feel extremely welcomed and comfortable. Beautiful private property with cozy casitas, open and relaxing space and gracious hosts. I’ve been visiting this property since 2009 and enjoy it every time. Recently, the former owner sold it and Sandie & Joe Ward bought it. This past stay, we were fortunate enough to have the ENTIRE place to ourselves and definitely had the V.I.P. treatment. Sandie went above and beyond welcoming us with delicious snacks and home-baked goodies in the mornings. This is the place to stay to unwind, relax, and enjoy the amenities. It’s not far from Austin, the wine country and surrounding areas if you feel inclined to explore Texas Hill Country and get the true small town experience. It’s a secluded stylish property and would be ideal to rent all the casitas with family or friends and enjoy the fire pit, sparkling pool, friendly neighboring goats, and a general sense of “Aaaaaaaah” zen moments.
