Providing gorgeous scenic hilltop views, Mystic Sky Ranch is set on 54 rolling acres including an abundance of native wildlife and plants.
It’s the perfect place to steal away for a long weekend and escape from every day life. The most intriguing aspect of Mystic Sky Ranch is it’s history. The property is part of the Historic Peyton Colony, land sections that were granted to Freedman after the Emancipation Proclamation. Austin Jones who was an anchor to the community was the grandson of MJ Jones, to whom the land was granted. Austin spent his entire life on this property. The land was granted to the Jones family in 1877. Previous owners lovingly operated Onion Creek Kitchens at Juniper Hills Farms since 2005. We wish them every success with the next chapter of their lives.
New owners Sandie & Joe Ward are dedicated to acknowledging the rich history of the land, becoming it’s new ambassadors and look forward to creating their own unique style which we are confident guests will enjoy. It is our desire to not only maintain and protect a piece of Texas Hill Country, but to share it with others with hopes of creating a family legacy for our children and grandchildren.
Inviting accommodations have a refined rustic feel with vintage teak, rattan and eclectic furniture, colorful art, textiles and antiques surrounded by nature. The property also offers several communal spaces for guests; outdoor kitchen poolside pavilion area, professional bocce ball court, relaxing outdoor seating areas for each Casita, water features, fountains and fish.
Take advantage of premium star gazing, beautiful sunsets or cozy up around the outdoor fire pit or treat yourself to a sauna, massage or a rainwater/fresh spring water outdoor shower. We also provide hammocks for mid-day snoozing.
A great place to soak in the relaxing vibe is by our Infinity edge pool with custom covered bath house/changing rooms, natural rock work and covered Pavilion Dining area with large wood burning gas jetted fireplace. Outdoor kitchen with large gas grill, ice maker, refrigerator, stovetop, sink, hot water heater and ceiling fans will have you unwinding in no time…
Mystic Sky Ranch is a retreat for romantic get aways as well as reunions, girls weekend, yoga retreats, bridal/baby showers, rehearsal dinners, weddings, music concerts in the spacious event barn, family gatherings and life celebrations.

A Word About Stays During Covid 19
We are following CDC guidelines for cleaning and sanitizing rooms between visits. All other public areas are pretty much out in the open such as: Pool Pavilion, Bocce Ball Court, Fire Pit and walking areas. Since we only have four rooms, there is a very limited small number of guests onsite at any given time so we expect everyone to be able to responsibly social distance when finding yourself in an outdoor area with other guests.
The Sauna is not in open air. The sauna door will be locked and guests may text staff to enter a sanitized room. Schedule in advance.
The pool kitchen is available for use by any guest and we are sanitizing surfaces on a regular basis. Single service plates and silverware will be available.
Utensils such as tongs, cutting board and spatula are available upon request so we can bring you clean items.
If you prefer to be able to have the entire property to yourself for you and your family and or friends, you must rent all four casitas.
